On Friday, January 18, the JJ-Street Children and Family Foundation together with the Back To The Basics training tour made a donation of 1,000 euros to the Estonian Association of Parents of Children with Cancer.
Last weekend, the Back To The Basics training tour, organized by the JJ-Street Children and Family Foundation, took place in both Tartu and Tallinn. This year, well-known Estonian choreographer Joel Juht conducted the training together with his student Eva Vihtoli, a member of the street dance troupe JJ-Street Crew, whom Juht has taught for a total of 13 years.
Even before the training started in Tartu on Friday, a positive surprise awaited everyone. Namely, the Back To The Basics training together with the JJ-Street Children and Family Foundation contributed 1,000 euros to the activities of the Estonian Association of Parents of Children with Cancer. The gift was handed over on Friday, January 18, in front of all the participants, and the lovely moment was accompanied by thunderous applause from the participants.
Kaili Lellep, representative of the Association of Parents of Children with Cancer in Estonia, confirmed that the donation will significantly contribute to the activities of the association. “The donation really came as a big surprise to us and it is a very, very large amount for our association, for which we can do a lot for the well-being of children with cancer.”
According to Lellep, it was especially nice to see the young people’s reaction and participation in the charity. “In recent years, young people have begun to pay more attention to charity and donations, including in support of our union, but they do not form the main group of donors of our union. It was even more surprising to me to see the sincere and immediate reaction of the young people who participated in the event when they heard that they could contribute to a good deed – it was a powerful and memorable emotion. Thanks to all these wonderful young people!”
Back To The Basics took place this year for the fifth time, and this year the training focused on the content of dance and bringing out emotion in music. For the first time, Joel Juht and Eva Vihtol taught choreography in pairs, which was also a new experience for the participants. In addition to dance knowledge, you could learn how to use your time better, how to achieve more with less, how to bring results and stay on the right course aimed at the goal, and change previous bad habits – the training was an excellent platform for the versatile development of young people.
Estonian Association of Parents of Children with Cancer (EVLVL) is an organization established in 1992, the purpose of which is to help parents of children with cancer. A union is formed by people who have a similar experience, who know what they are talking about and who have a desire to help.
